Who are we

Our venture into the world of spice trade began almost thirty years ago as a family affair. Originating from the southern region of Sri Lanka, our roots were embedded in a land abundant with cinnamon, a legacy shaped by the Dutch manipulation of the Ceylon cinnamon trade.

The dedication of Eng. Damith Rajapakse and Mrs. Hiranga Runage to win the world of spices brought sapiri spice (pvt) Ltd into life. Their vision breathed new life into our once ordinary business, transforming it into a beacon of growth both locally and internationally. Eng. Damith Rajapakse’s trust in our spice supplies elevated our presence from wholesale markets to becoming a trusted supplier to prestigious government entities, including the Sri Lankan army, a milestone achieved in 2023.

Our evolution wasn’t solely confined to traditional practices; we embraced modernization by transitioning from basic processing to value-added operations such as spice powdering and essential oil extractions. This expansion was facilitated by combining our inherent advantage of being in major harvesting grounds with engineering expertise and marketing acumen brought in by Eng. Damith Rajapakse and Mrs. Hiranga Runage.

Today, our state-of-the-art processing facilities are a testament to this journey. The in-house design and manufacture of machinery under Eng. Damith Rajapakse’s direct supervision have significantly reduced operational and construction costs. We take pride in sharing these efficiencies with our clients, ensuring top-notch quality while maintaining cost-effectiveness.

Our team

Damith Rajapaksha, a proficient Mechanical Engineer aged 29, proudly holds a degree from the esteemed University of Moratuwa. His professional journey encompasses roles as a former employee at a value-added spice exporting company, as well as at the National Water Supply and Drainage Board.

Hiranga Runage graduated from University of Southampton, UK with an MSc. Digital Marketing. She is 27 years old, currently owning and managing a modern trade hybrid retail & wholesale store while following an MBA at University of Ruhuna in Sri Lanka. Additionally, she is dedicatedly advancing her studies for the CIM Level 7 qualification.
